Costa Cálida - The Murcia region

The area we are promoting is inland, away from the coast. Las Casicas is a small community situated between the town of Fortuna and Garapacha.

Fortuna is a large town with a cosmopolitan feel about it. Here you can obtain all your needs for day-to-day living. There are supermarkets and a very good medical centre available 24hrs a day, every day of the year. Fortuna is also famous for its natural spa baths; here all kinds of treatments are available as well as a large swimming pool. There is shortly to be built an 18 hole golf course.

Las Casicas is a small village about 8 km from Fortuna. Here you can enjoy a peaceful environment among the Spanish people. It also has its own Bodega where local farmers bring there grapes to be pressed into wine. For those who like walking, there are numerous walks and days out hiking in the mountain. This is the true Spain where the community will welcome you with smile and a friendly "Hola (hello).

There is a local bus that travels from Garapacha to Fortuna, which carries the children to school and runs at regular times through out the day. There is also an excellent school which caters for children from different nationalities and integrates the foreign children into the Spanish way of life.

The Murcia region boasts about 170km of coastline where many fine clear beaches can be found and where you can swim in the warm Mediterranean Sea. Murcia, with its sub-tropical climate, is also recognized as one of the healthiest places in the world in which to live.

Living in one of our houses in Las Casicas gives you the advantage of not only visiting the many areas such as Murcia but also the choice of visiting Alicante, Cartagena and the Mar Menor. Here are also many more interesting places that can be visited on a single day. So you can enjoy the experience of living among English and Spanish people, combined with the peacefulness that living in this area of Murcia gives you, but also you can be on one of the many beaches within one hour.
