Las Mariposas is a 200 year old farmhouse located in traditional Spain among the orange groves just outside Rojales.

Las Mariposas is located 36 kilometers south of Alicante on the Costa Blanca, just inland from Guardamar del Segura.

Set in its own secluded grounds, it offers two high-class self-catering studio apartments for renting all year round. It has a history too. It was once the home of the Count of Lo Marabu. The land it stands on, and for miles around was given to the Count by the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. You will enjoy the sunny climate and tranquility of this setting and the use of the owners' swimming pool.

The Costa Blanca has much to offer the holiday-maker where historic towns are set amid superb scenery and the rural pace of life remains undisturbed. Finding this other side of Spain away from the tourist centres is a challenge and a delight. The memory of it will last long after the tan has faded!

In addition the World Health Organisation recognises the area around Las Mariposas as one of the healthiest places to live or stay in the world. Also, one of the sunniest climates on the Costa Blanca. It is only ten minutes drive from the beautiful sandy beaches of Guardamar and La Marina. Just 20 minutes away is Torrevieja and 30 minutes to the airports of Alicante and Murcia.

There are many beautiful and challenging golf courses within easy putting distance, which makes it a perfect location for golfers.

The flat and safe roads in the area together with the mountains a few kilometers away are just right for the serious cyclist.

There are all the usual recreational, shopping and sporting facilities close to hand.

Ciudad Quesada and other developments are nearby making Las Marisposas an ideal location for inspection visits, or to stay while waiting for completion of your new home.

Golf:

In the area surrounding Las Mariposas are numerous golf courses, ranging from amateur thru pro-am to fully professional ranges.

Cycling:

Located in a superb area for cyclists and ideal for both winter and summer training. There are many excellent miles of flat local roads and the mountains are just a few kilometers away. There is a beautiful swimming pool on site to relax in after a day's riding; as well as secure cycle storage.

Las Mariposas is a 200 year old farm house with two self-contained studio apartments in its own secluded grounds. It is in the middle of orange and lemon groves on the outskirts of the tranquil and picturesque Spanish village of Rojales, which is only a fifteen minute cycle ride to the beautiful sandy beaches of Guardamar.

It is an ideal choice for a holiday throughout the year as the area is recognised world-wide for its marvellous climate and extremely healthy atmosphere, due to the beautiful salt lagoons near by.

Other Activities:

Surrounding Las Mariposas there are a large number of family orientated centres to keep the little ones amused when they become bored with the beach.

From Alicante town there is a tram/train to Benidorm, this is one of the tourist areas where anything and everything is orientated towards tourism. Fortunately this is also where two of the main attractions are. These being - Mundomar and Aqualandia theme parks.

Mundomar is a marine and exotic animal park and is always a great attraction for children. Next door to Mundomar is Aqualandia and as the name suggests is a water orientated fun park.

Further afield and for those looking for culture and history along with entertaining the children (or not), the local city of Elche (also known as Elx). Near to Elche is the Rio Safari which is a compact safari area, where visitors may take the train and listen to a commentary as they watch the animals then afterwards take a stroll round the animal enclosures. A good play area is alongside the cafe.

After a long day at the local and not so local centres, why not stop off on the way back to Las Mariposas for a bite to eat? There are a number of good restaurants between Alicante and Las Mariposas to explore.

Gran Alicant's Sand Hills Kebab & Spice Bar is located just on the Av. De Noruega (just off the Av. Del Carabasi). Near this restaurant is Joe's Fish 'n' Chips. Closer to Las Mariposas is the Oriental Wok Buffet restaurant just off the N.332 at Guardamar.

Weather:

The warm climate day and night, many hours of sunshine and minimal rainfall is a combination difficult to be found in any other region of Europe.

How to Find  Las Mariposas Bed and Breakfast From Alicante Airport:

On leaving the car park keep to the right-hand side of the road (!) and follow the sign for Alicante (sur), then turn right onto the N-332/Cartagena road heading South. Keep going for about 28kms until you reach the signs for San Fulgencio then follow the directions below.

How to Find Us From Murcia Airport (San Javier):

On leaving the airport, take the signs for Alicante and join the A37/AP7 motorway. Head north for 20 kilometers and take exit 776 to join the N-332 coast road passing Torrevieja and continue on to the river bridge just beyond Guardamar Del Segura then take the inside lane on the bridge. Then follow the directions below.

General Directions:

We are 30 minutes drive from Alicante airport or an hour from Murcia's San Javier airport. From north or south you will come to the AGIP petrol filling-stations painted yellow and red. Immediately before the filling station turn right into a slip road signed to Rojales. Bear right and this will take you onto the CV.920 road. Follow this road for about 2 kilometers. You will then pass a camping site on your left-hand side and about 1 kilometer further on you will come to a tavern called “Casa Paco”. Opposite this tavern, on your right-hand side, is a small rural road called Camino Rural LO Marabu and signposted to a restaurant. Turn right into this road and go to the end. In front of you is a large white house; park on the right before the junction. You have arrived! Your Welcome pack includes the basic necessities - tea, coffee, milk and sugar - as well as a few cakes, bread, butter and a bottle of wine!
